At CHIC Toastmasters Club in Beijing, we're always trying to provide tools to help with your creativity, humor and imagination. This list may look simple, but it's a very powerful tool for word association. These are not just random words and phrases; They are elements that appear quite often in jokes and funny stories.
This list of words and phrases are meant to be used to help you think out of the box and create in-congruent links to your humorous situation. This lesson is part of the Humor 101 Training. Please contact the VPE for the next session. If you haven't joined the training, then here's a quick hint: For each trigger words, think of specific characteristics, and then brainstorm 'what funny situations can happen' off those characteristics.
You can also use the list as a basic jump-start for your table topics. Additional trigger words and phrases will be added to the list, as we discover them through our meetings.
