True story...and would be more humorous if I can actually input Chinese characters in here.

A few days before Christmas, I was at the wholesale store in Beijing, shopping for a curtain for my second study room, which my ayi doubles as her bedroom.   I looked around for a nice color and pattern that goes with the furniture.  But it costs over 1500RMB!  I didn't know curtains costs so much!  So, I started haggling with the vendor:  "It's for my Ayi.  I don't want to pay that much"  He says, "Oh!  For your Ayi!  Why didn't you say so?  We have a whole section especially for Ayi." 

I looked at the selection, and started bargaining again, "the material is as thin as paper.  I can almost see through it.  The sunlight will shine through it.  It's cheaper, but it's useless"

He looked at me shocked: "Why do you want to block out the sunlight?  Your Ayi should wake up when the sun rises to do her work!"
