November 30^th Meeting Minutes (By Coico)

Wednesday, 30^th November, we witnessed another moment of change in CHIC. In the two-hour meeting, we saw new strengths and passion, we competed with no fear, most importantly, we thought and discussed freshly, with the great sincerity and modesty to find more ideas for the growth of CHIC.

Below is the candidates and outline of their key ideas. Let’s pay our great respect to them for their courage and readiness to contribute to the club, and remember the excellent performance of them. For those very constructive ideas, let’s develop them and put them into concrete action.

For the most important ideas:

Gale, Melody and Lorrain all mentioned exchanges with other club. Gale said, if elected, he would promote communication with other clubs, let Chicers go to other club, to see and learn what other clubs are doing. Melody said VPPR could play a greater role by promoting cooperation with other club, such as inviting officers of other clubs to make featured speeches about their successful experiences and improving the quality of co-meetings (maybe make them more like mild competitions). Lorrain said she would carry forward the efforts of Cecilia in promoting inter-club cooperation.

Hubert called up all members and officers to pick up what we’ve failed to do with the spirit of redemption. Gale already had a very good idea of the club’s situation and officers job delivery and made the decision at the beginning of the meeting to help members be more professional at organizing every meeting and taking every role. For his idea of promoting the function of officers and mentoring team to help members’ growth, Lisa responded at the end of the meeting to deliver better performance in the mentoring team. Lorrain is also a person who cared so much to mention the big problem of newsletter. Other jobs we neglected in the recent past also include that of webmasters, for this, Jon responded to improve.

The election of Treasurer is the funniest part of the meeting. Jon nominated himself at the last minutes but entertained us more than proved himself. The result is that, Jon, Michael and maybe Ludivine all agreed to be Assistant Treasurer. Does that mean we will have more budget in our activities during the next term?
