Membership Dues Information
Why Pay Membership Fees? Around 50% of the fees CHIC collects are sent to Toastmasters International (“TI”) so that we can use all the copyright training materials that TI provides. The remainder of the fees goes towards renting the training room for our weekly meetings, purchasing new member kits as well as other materials for the development of the club members. Billing Cycles As per TI policy, CHIC bills members on a bi-annual basis (every six months). The two billing periods are April 1 to September 30, and October 1 to March 31. When joining, you are asked to pay up to the end of the current billing cycle, including the New Member fee. Details on how this is calculated are below. Paying though the end of the current billing cycle simplifies billing for members after they join. After the initial collection is made, everyone is automatically put on the same billing cycle. Fees Calculation New Member Fee The one time joining fee is RMB 350 and covers the cost of your new member kit which will be mailed directly from TI to our club. When it arrives, we will give it to you at one of our weekly meetings. You will also receive the Humorously Speaking Advanced Manual, a mini-diary, and other paper-work. Membership FeeMembership fees are collected bi-annually (every six months). The monthly fee is RMB 90. Renewal fee is 540RMB. Joining MonthIf you join in the first half of a month, you’ll be asked to pay starting from that month. If you join in the second half of the month, you’ll be asked to pay starting from the next month. Example 1: If you join on January 3rd, you’ll be asked to pay for the dues inclusive of January up to the renewal period of March 31. This involves January, February, and March membership dues and the New Member Fee.
Example 2: If you join on January 22nd, you’ll be asked to pay for the dues starting in February up to the renewal period of March 31. This involves February, and March membership dues and the New Member Fee.
